MONTS ET VIGNES

Between schist and limestone.
From the River Orb plain to the beginning of the Massif Central foothills, there are villages full of individual character with a wealth of winemaking heritage, surrounded by vine-clad hillsides and scenic views.
Here olive groves, strawberry trees, holm oaks, cork oaks and chestnut trees complement the vineyards. AOC Faugères (AOP) is an inspirational vineyard, with its bed rock of schist and vines following the undulating contours.
The wines are full-bodied, rounded and powerful with very fine tannins. The IGP zone (protected geographic indication) of Côtes de Thongue, characterised by a relatively large north-south slope, forms a succession of terraces running down from the Cévennes to the Mediterranean.
