CHATEAU DE SAINT MARTIN DES CHAMPS - PIERRE ET MICHEL BIROT

Located in the Languedoc, 20 kilometres from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea on the lower slopes of the Cévennes, Château Saint Martin des Champs was built in the 17th century near a 7th-century hermitage, where pilgrims used to stop on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The magnificent buildings have blended into the vineyard estate from the very beginning. Witnesses to our history, the huge stables and stone wine vats date back to 1752 and are still used today in our winery. The owners Pierre and Michel Birot are winemakers following in a family tradition dating back to 1675. They tend their vineyards – 90 hectares of clay and limestone soil with an ideal south-facing aspect – with great love and care.
