Roujan
The village of Roujan was already mentioned in the 9th century under the name of Rogani (red earth), and was occupied as early as the Neolithic period (burials), followed by the Roman era (settlements and temples). Organised as a circulade around a medieval core, three of the four gates still visible bear witness to its past. An illustrated walking trail, "Les Portes du Temps", invites you to discover this historic heritage. Roujan is home to the famous Château-Abbaye de Cassan, just 2 km from the town centre... a must-see!
