Margon
Whatever side you come from, you'll discover its magnificent 12th-century castle, remodelled in the 16th century, nestling in the greenery. It is protected by a pretty "circulade" that leads under the "banastes" to the church of Saint-Christophe, whose 15th-century altarpiece is listed.
As you wander through the narrow streets, you'll come across the town gates and some old, well-restored facades. You can also visit the grounds of the château, listed as a "remarkable garden", and meet the people of Margonnais and their warm welcome.
