The village of Fouzilhon stands proudly on a rocky hill, overlooking vineyards, olive groves and wheat fields, bordered by fruit trees and wild flowers.

Just a few kilometres from Magalas, Gabian, Pouzolles and Laurens, and less than an hour from the beaches and the Haut Languedoc Regional Nature Park. The air in this Mediterranean town smells of bygone medieval times...

The remains of the ramparts, the fortified castle and the castral chapel sit majestically on the old village circulade. Curiosity leads the walker to wander the narrow streets and stone staircases to reach the top of the village. From the rock, facing the church and the square, the view is panoramic and remarkable.

At the bottom of the village, bordering the Esplanade and the new cemetery, Rue de l'Aqueduc owes its name to the Gallo-Roman aqueduct that runs from the source of the Resclauze (Gabian) to Béziers. There is little or no sign of it at this point. However, it can be seen in the garrigue following the "Lène" stream towards the Font Jeannette spring.
