Les villages circulaires Typique du sud de la France, certains villages des Avant-Monts ont une disposition architecturale originale. Les rues sont organisés en forme de cercles autour d'un château ou d'une église placé en son centre Les pigeonniers de Murviel Très nombreux à Murviel, les pigeonniers constituent une véritable originalité. Certains sont très particuliers : ce sont des pigeonniers-tours, parfois crénelés. La Tour romane de Puissalicon Du haut de ses 26m de hauteur, ce magnifique clocher de style lombard fut édifié au XIe siècle. C’était la tour attenante à une église aujourd’hui disparue : Saint Etienne de Pézan. C’est aujourd’hui un obélisque singulier, dans le cimetière du village.
