The Romanesque Tower of Puissalicon
Standing 26 metres high, this magnificent Lombard-style bell tower was built in the 11th century. Its decoration features storeys separated by cornices, oculi in the upper part surrounded by alternating basalt rocks, like the various bays enclosed in Lombard bands. This decoration gives the building an elevated character and at the same time a very airy structure. It was the tower adjoining a church that no longer exists: Saint Etienne de Pézan. Today it is a singular obelisk in the village cemetery. It is located in the village cemetery on the road from Béziers to Puissalicon. The building was listed as a historic monument in Prosper Mérimée's earliest registers.
