Seeing the great Yanowski on the edge of trance, reaching out to the audience, one is inevitably reminded of Brel... His accomplice, Fred Parker, is that jazz musician whose scores casually emancipate themselves from all the canons of the genre. Listening to both of them unravel their songs beyond reality, one is reminded of German expressionist cabarets. Their Cirque des Mirages is a fragile balance of reason and folly, a circus of mirages that conjures up the unseen and the unseen. On stage, they summon a procession of characters and stories, each more fascinating than the last. Their songs, which are by turns funny, poetic, insolent, unbridled, lyrical and phantasmagorical, are so many sketches that lead us into the meanders of the unconscious. Our two alchemists are on a mission to explore the thousand facets of the human soul...
